Hey there folks and welcome! I'm the in-house photo and video journalist for the University of New Mexico's Health Sciences Center; if you're curious about my work below is a short history:
- Previously I was the television multi-platform journalist for the ABC affiliate in St. Louis; producing news segments for the channel as well as setting the strategy for the station's web presence and other platforms including Facebook, Twitter, etc.
- Before that I was a video/photojournalist for Gannett's USA TODAY Network on the southern New Mexico beat based out of the offices of the Las Cruces Sun-News.
- Previously I was creative director for broadband for Britain’s biggest cable company, directed 6 seasons of light entertainment and light documentary TV for the BBC, taught photojournalism workshops, was a graphic designer at several UK TV companies and produced and hosted hundreds of episodes of the award winning Letter to America and The Film Talk podcasts.
- I also co-hosted the journalism podcast Saturday Club and Untold LA, my interactive book about the historic West Adams District of Los Angeles, is available for iPad, iPhone and Mac.
To see yours truly in front of a camera play the videos on this page; a visit to the International Festival in Las Cruces, NM, an ABC St. Louis segment on helping the homeless and a stroll through the Hatch Chile Festival. The ABC segment was shot in a studio using traditional broadcast techniques; the other videos were shot and edited by myself in the field on an iPhone.
Feel free to contact me if you want to talk about art, life, how the creative impulse can be harnessed for good and more!
